Ingredients

1 lb ground beef

1 tablespoon olive oil

1 small onion, finely chopped

2 cloves garlic, minced

1 packet taco seasoning (about 1 ounce)

1 cup beef broth

1 bag (12 oz) tortilla chips

2 cups shredded cheddar cheese

1 cup shredded Monterey Jack cheese

1 jalapeño, sliced (optional)

1 cup diced tomatoes (fresh or canned)

1 cup black beans, drained and rinsed

1 avocado, diced

½ cup sour cream

¼ cup fresh cilantro, chopped

Lime wedges, for serving

Salt and pepper, to taste

Instructions

Cook the Beef: In a large skillet over medium heat, add the olive oil. Once hot, add the chopped onion and garlic. Sauté until softened, about 3-4 minutes.

Brown the Meat: Add the ground beef to the skillet. Cook until browned and fully cooked through, breaking it apart with a spoon, about 5-7 minutes. Season with salt and pepper to taste.

Add Seasonings: Stir in the taco seasoning and beef broth. Let it simmer for about 5-6 minutes, or until the mixture thickens slightly. Remove from heat.

Prepare the Nachos: Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). On a large baking sheet, spread out half the tortilla chips in an even layer. Spoon half of the beef mixture over the chips, followed by half of the diced tomatoes, black beans, jalapeños (if using), and half of the cheddar and Monterey Jack cheeses.

Layer Again: Repeat the layers with the remaining tortilla chips, beef mixture, tomatoes, black beans, jalapeños, and cheeses.

Melt the Cheese: Place the baking sheet in the preheated oven and bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.

Garnish and Serve: Remove the nachos from the oven and top with diced avocado, sour cream, and fresh cilantro. Serve with lime wedges on the side for a zesty finish.

Enjoy!: Dig in while hot and enjoy the cheesy, beefy goodness of your supreme nachos!
