Ingredients

1 pound fresh green beans, trimmed

1 cup all-purpose flour

1 teaspoon garlic powder

1 teaspoon onion powder

1 teaspoon smoked paprika

1/2 teaspoon salt

1/4 teaspoon black pepper

2 large eggs

1 cup panko breadcrumbs

1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese (optional, for a cheesy twist)

Cooking spray or olive oil for misting

Instructions

Prep the Green Beans: Start by rinsing the fresh green beans under cold water. Trim the ends off each bean and pat them dry with a clean towel.

Set Up Your Breading Station: In a shallow bowl, mix the flour, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, salt, and black pepper. In a separate bowl, beat the eggs until well combined. In a third bowl, combine the panko breadcrumbs and grated Parmesan cheese (if using).

Coat the Green Beans: Working in batches, first dip each green bean in the flour mixture, shaking off the excess. Next, dip it into the beaten eggs, ensuring it is fully coated. Finally, roll the green bean in the panko mixture, pressing gently to adhere the breadcrumbs.

Preheat the Air Fryer: Preheat your air fryer to 400°F (200°C) for about 5 minutes to ensure even cooking.

Air Fry the Green Bean Fries: Spray the basket of the air fryer with cooking spray or lightly mist with olive oil. Place the coated green beans in a single layer in the air fryer basket, making sure to leave some space between them for better air circulation. You may need to do this in batches depending on the size of your air fryer.

Cook to Crispy Perfection: Air fry the green beans at 400°F (200°C) for 8-10 minutes, shaking the basket halfway through to ensure even cooking. They should be golden brown and crispy when done.

Serve and Enjoy: Once cooked, remove the green bean fries from the air fryer and let them cool slightly before serving. Pair with your favorite dipping sauce, such as ranch, aioli, or a spicy sriracha mayo for an extra kick!
