Ingredients

1 lb ground turkey

1 cup fresh green chilies, diced (or canned, drained)

½ cup breadcrumbs (preferably panko)

¼ cup green onions, finely chopped

2 cloves garlic, minced

1 tsp cumin

1 tsp smoked paprika

½ tsp salt

¼ tsp black pepper

1 egg, lightly beaten

Olive oil (for greasing)

Slider buns (8-10 small)

Sliced avocado (optional for topping)

Fresh cilantro (for garnish)

Spicy mayo or your favorite sauce for serving

Instructions

Prepare the Mixture: In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground turkey, diced green chilies, breadcrumbs, chopped green onions, minced garlic, cumin, smoked paprika, salt, black pepper, and the beaten egg. Mix everything together until well combined but be careful not to overmix, as this can make the burgers tough.

Form the Patties: Divide the mixture into small portions and form into slider-sized patties (approximately 2-3 inches in diameter). You should get about 8-10 patties. Make a slight indentation in the center of each patty to prevent it from puffing up during cooking.

Cook the Sliders: Heat a large skillet or grill over medium heat. Lightly grease with olive oil. Once hot, add the patties. Cook for about 5-6 minutes on each side or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (75°C) and the patties are golden brown.

Prepare the Buns: While the patties are cooking, you can toast the slider buns on a separate skillet or grill, cut side down, until they’re lightly browned.

Assemble the Sliders: Place each turkey patty on the bottom half of the toasted bun. Top with avocado slices if desired. Add a dollop of spicy mayo or your preferred sauce, then garnish with fresh cilantro. Cap with the top half of the bun.

Serve: Serve the sliders warm, with extra green chilies or hot sauce on the side for those who like an extra kick!
