Ingredients

1 cup almond flour

1/4 cup coconut flour

1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder

1/4 cup coconut oil, melted

1/4 cup pure maple syrup or agave syrup

1/4 cup unsweetened applesauce

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1/2 teaspoon baking soda

1/4 teaspoon salt

1/2 cup dark chocolate chips (dairy-free if desired)

1/4 cup chopped walnuts or pecans (optional)

Instructions

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

Mix Dry Ingredients: In a large mixing bowl, combine the almond flour, coconut flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt. Whisk together until well combined.

Combine Wet Ingredients: In another bowl, mix together the melted coconut oil, maple syrup (or agave), unsweetened applesauce, and vanilla extract until smooth and creamy.

Combine Wet and Dry: Gradually add the wet mixture to the dry ingredients. Stir until just combined. The dough should be slightly sticky. If it's too dry, you can add a teaspoon of water as needed.

Fold in Chocolate Chips: Gently fold in the dark chocolate chips and chopped nuts (if using) until evenly dispersed throughout the dough.

Form Bites: Using your hands or a small cookie scoop, form small balls of dough (about a tablespoon each) and place them evenly spaced on the prepared baking sheet.

Bake: Bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are firm and the tops look slightly set. They will continue to firm up as they cool.

Cool and Serve: Allow the bites to cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.

Storage: Store any leftover chocolate chip bites in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 5 days, or in the refrigerator for a week.
