When preparing salmon for the Sweet & Savory Honey Butter Glazed Salmon Bites, it is essential to remove the skin. The skin can create a barrier that prevents the honey butter sauce from fully adhering to the fish, which is crucial for achieving that delectable glaze. Additionally, salmon skin can become chewy and unappealing when cooked, detracting from the overall texture of the dish. By opting for skinless salmon fillets, you ensure that each bite is tender and infused with the sweet and savory flavors of the honey butter sauce.

Ingredients

1 lb fresh salmon fillet, skin removed

1/4 cup unsalted butter

1/4 cup honey

2 tablespoons soy sauce

1 teaspoon minced garlic

1 teaspoon fresh ginger, grated

1/2 teaspoon black pepper

1/2 teaspoon sea salt

1 tablespoon olive oil

1 tablespoon lemon juice

Chopped fresh parsley, for garnish

Lemon wedges, for serving

Instructions

Prepare the Salmon: Start by cutting the salmon fillet into bite-sized cubes, approximately 1-inch pieces. Set aside.

Make Honey Butter Sauce: In a small saucepan, melt the unsalted butter over medium heat. Once melted, add honey, soy sauce, minced garlic, grated ginger, black pepper, and sea salt. Stir continuously until the mixture is well combined and starts to simmer. Remove from heat and set aside.

Cook the Salmon Bites: Heat olive oil in a large non-stick skillet over medium-high heat. Once hot, add the salmon cubes in a single layer (you may need to do this in batches). Cook for about 2-3 minutes on each side, or until the salmon is golden brown and cooked through, making sure not to overcook. You want the salmon to be tender and flaky.

Glaze the Salmon: Reduce the heat to low and pour the honey butter sauce over the cooked salmon bites in the skillet. Gently toss to coat the salmon in the glaze, allowing it to bubble slightly for a minute to enhance the flavor.

Serve: Remove from heat, sprinkle with fresh parsley, and drizzle with any remaining sauce from the pan. Serve hot with lemon wedges on the side for an extra zest.
