Ingredients

1 can (8 oz) crescent roll dough

1 cup cooked chicken, shredded (rotisserie chicken works great)

1/2 cup marinara sauce

1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese

1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese

1 teaspoon dried Italian seasoning

1/2 teaspoon garlic powder

Fresh basil leaves for garnish (optional)

Olive oil spray or melted butter for brushing

Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).

Prepare Chicken Mixture: In a mixing bowl, combine the shredded chicken, marinara sauce, half of the mozzarella cheese, grated Parmesan cheese, Italian seasoning, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Stir until well combined.

Roll Out Dough: On a clean surface, unroll the crescent roll dough, and gently separate it into 4 rectangles by pressing the perforations together to seal edges.

Fill Crescents: Spoon a generous amount of the chicken mixture onto the center of each rectangle. Top with a sprinkle of the remaining mozzarella cheese.

Fold and Seal: Fold each rectangle over to create a mini pocket, pressing the edges to seal securely. Optionally, use a fork to crimp the edges for an extra seal.

Bake: Place the filled crescents onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Spray or brush the tops lightly with olive oil or melted butter. Bake in the preheated oven for about 12-15 minutes, or until golden brown.

Cool and Serve: Once baked, remove from the oven and let cool for a couple of minutes. Garnish with fresh basil leaves if desired, and serve warm with extra marinara sauce for dipping.
